Kanata North Diplomatic Tour & Dinner Reception

On Thursday on Nov. 12th 2015, we will be hosting a first-ever Diplomatic Dinner Reception and Corporate Business Tour in Kanata North for our Canadian Ambassadors, Embassy representatives and High Commissioners. We want them to discover first-hand the splendor and success of Kanata’s business community and take them on a tour of Canada’s Largest Research and Technology Park.

With the growth of multinational companies and international commerce, businesses are becoming increasing global. As a result, many executives who do business overseas need to understand the cultural differences that affect business and be aware of global trends and the changing economic climate.

This networking event for Kanata North’s technology executives and international diplomates with provide an opportunity to discuss some of these topics and open up dialogue on improving international trade and broaden the awareness of the Kanata North business community. The aim of the event is to showcase all that the Kanata North business community has to offer and facilitate commercial and professional relationships with diplomatic representatives, and members of economic and foreign affairs, as well as international trade in Canada.

Invitations were sent out to over thirty embassies and diplomatic missions in Ottawa.  Members of the business community will have an exclusive opportunity to network with the international delegates, as well as other local Executives, Leaders and Politicians.

The Ambassadors will meet at the Brookstreet Hotel where they will board a chartered bus and then spend the afternoon touring three local technology companies that include Nordion, the Wesley Clover Complex, and Solace Systems. At each location they will have the opportunity to meet key personnel and senior executives before taking a tour of the facilities. Upon completion of the tour the delegates will be escorted back to the Brookstreet Hotel to join local technology executives for an exclusive networking and cocktail reception followed by a gourmet dinner. A keynote address will be presented by business magnate, and serial high tech entrepreneur, Sir Terence Matthews, and guests will learn more about the businesses in Kanata North’s Technology Park.

Each of the Ambassadors will receive a special delegate package containing corporate profiles of local companies in the area.  Kanata North features some of the fastest-growing and innovative technology companies in Canada. With several having been recognized on the global stage for their game-changing technologies. The timing for this prestigious event could not be better, as we look forward to sharing the tremendous success of the region with the international diplomats and dignitaries.
