Celebrating the Past, Present and Future of Canadian Innovation

From the telephone to the walkie-talkie, insulin to the cardiac pacemaker, the Canadarm to Imax theatre – Canada has provided the world with a great number of technological breakthroughs. The tradition continues today, with Canada playing at the forefront of innovations such as quantum computing, global food security, biotechnology, renewable energy, cyber security, artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles and more.

Ottawa is fortunate to be the home of the organization and the facility dedicated to celebrating such Canadian innovation. And after an extensive, three-year renewal program, the new Canada Science and Technology Museum is set to reopen its doors to the community this November, reinserting itself at the intersection between Canada’s history of innovation, our current place on the technology world scene, and the inspiring future our next generation of innovators will no doubt be contributing to.

Christina Tessier, Director General of the new museum, will be the guest speaker for our September 5^thTechTuesday, and she will share with us the vision she and her team have for taking the modern, world-class museum forward. A vision that includes helping influence that next generation to believe in taking risks, being creative, overcoming setbacks and being passionate about pushing the barriers of science and technology.

We hope you can join us to learn more about this important local and national institution that is a showcase for much of what we are involved in here in Canada’s largest technology park.
