The Carleton-Ottawa Mathematics Association is pleased to be hosting the 2015 Ontario Math Olympics here in Ottawa.
This exciting event will take place on June 5th and 6th, 2015 on the Carleton University campus. At that time, the top 120 Grade 7 & 8 math students from all across the province will be competing for Olympic honours.
The ability to think divergently in problem-solving, to work well in teams, and to operate under tight time constraints are skills that are key in the high tech, legal, educational, and business world. These students are our future leaders and entrepreneurs.
There are many costs associated with this undertaking (e.g. awards, commemorative T-shirts, prizes, “Math Fun Packs” for both participants and coaches). The Carleton-Ottawa Mathematics Association is looking for the support of community-minded individuals and businesses in making this a truly memorable event for all.
In return for a monetary donation or a supply of materials to be used during the competition, your name and/or logo will be featured in connection with the Math Olympics event (see attached form for details). More importantly, you will be helping our promising young “Mathletes” achieve their potential.
